sound-usage.txt still describes the current situation, AFAIK. Not many DOS
apps work with sound. One exception is Wolfenstein 3D.

I would have used $_chipset="plainvga", but if this works it's fine.

$_videoportaccess does _not_ control access to the video ports, as its
name suggests (that's what $_graphics does), but it temporarily enables
direct access to the timer/speaker ports (timer at 0x42, timer config at
0x43 and timer out/speaker at 0x61) during video BIOS init, only if
$_speaker = "emulated"; with $_speaker = "native" it makes no difference
at all. You see the "beep" connection here.

This part of the docs is not out outdated but futuristic. It's there
accidentally. You'll need my svgalib patch for it and svgalib 1.4.2.
$_chipset = "svgalib"
and the patch is at
www.dosemu.org/~bart
If anyone wants to try this, please let me know if you succeed and your
chipset, so that I know what works and what doesn't.

It's not in the official DOSEMU yet because we have security concerns
(memory(MMIO)/ports conflicts) and it does not work on some cards for
reasons we haven't figured out.
