The problem is that we do not see why having a single route entry for this range is such important for your project, or why you need to route a range at all (not a network).
As already mentioned the Linux routing code is explicitly designed on many levels to work with CIDR blocks, not ranges. This simplifies the design greatly allowing for a more efficient route lookup and also easier to manage routes for the network administrators as this closely matches routing requirements in all normal IP based networks.
