Hi,
I've seen a very strange behavior on a machine with a Broadcom network
device. Depending on when I set up the device it seems to allocate
or use memory it is not supposed to use. The effect I see is that if I set
up the device very late in the boot up process, my Gnome will not be able
to start any more although kdm did start. This happens only if there's
also a link on the device. If I set up the device at the usual point in
the boot up process, I won't get any problems. I've tried the patch for
b44 included in 2.6.11-rc3-mm1 but it didn't help.
