Hello All, Hmmm.... , In my case I thought it was the AT-vga
        card that I had . I had an AT-vga, AT-ne2000, AT-modemcard .
When I'd remove the ethercard (PNP capable but not on) the
trouble I was seeing would vanish & if I swapped over
        to a PCI-vga card .
The symptoms were dropping of characters to the screen &
to 'chat' from the modem .
        I finally just removed the AT-ne2000 , until I can get a
        pci-tulip(Kingston) in .

        AT-vga, standard irq ( CL-GD542x no brand )
        AT-ne2000, 5, 240 ( Kingston kne20T )
        AT-modemcard 4, 2f8

        This all with 2.0.36 .
