Hello,
We are using an oracle 8.0.5 server on linux. You can use ODBC to
connect VB (or any other clients) to oracle server, if you have a TCP/IP
based network. You can download a early adopter release of oracle 8.0.5
for linux from technet.oracle.com ( free registeration ).
There are also other Database Servers available for linux such as
SE-Informix, SQLPlus, Sybase etc. Check their web sites.
