Thanks for the insight (but I'm still stuck :()
The problem stems from needing to move files from a xenix machine to a mac
and pc. I used a program called ghost to create an image of the original
scsi hard drive and dropped the image on an IDE hard drive. (My linux
machine has no scsi because I haven't yet found drivers for an adaptec
7940). At anyrate, although I am not 100 percent certain that the
superblock might be bad, I'm reasonably sure that it's good. I've used
ghost many times to clone linux, sco, netware, nt and even mac drives.
Is it possible that the reason that I can't mount it is because the
partition is marked active? I have seen many posts in the last 6 months of
people trying to mount a partition like this and most report the same
error. At anyrate, If I figure it out I'll let you know
Thanks in advance.. Mike (og)
