intel 82558 compatilibity

Is the Intel 82558 10/100 ethernet-on-motherboard controller supported in
2.0.x and 2.1.x (now 2.2)? I'm planning on making a router/firewall with
an NLX form factor motherboard (asus) that has the 82558 on board. Anyone
have any problems with NLX motherboards and 2.0.x?
