I did it, but Netscape 4.5 has some IMAP incompatibilities with my
mailbox, and I wasn't entirely carried away with the new user interface.
I installed the 4.5 tar mostly to get strong encryption.

I suggest removing the 4.0x RPM first, then installing the 4.5 tar files
in /usr/local following the included installation directions.  As you
probably noticed, RH uses a script (/usr/bin/netscape) instead of
executing the program directly.  I found that just overwriting the RPM
directory for the executable and libraries (/usr/lib/netscape) with the
tar installation did not work very well.
