AFAIK, there are NO viruses on Linux. There was an "annoucement" of a virus
(from McAfee, the anti-virus software vendors!) but it turned out to be
basically a program that allowed universal root access if you're stupid enough
to run it.
Universal access to source code means that writing viruses just aren't any
fun. Everybody can see what you did, who did it, and how it was done. Or maybe
Linux users just aren't brain-dead enough to write viruses.
I don't know about "security" software - I'm assuming you mean network
security, and that's a BIG subject!
