Hi;

I am having some problems configuring routing on a firewall computer that
we are using. It is running 2.1.131 with the ipchains utility. Some extra
routes have been added and I can't seem to get rid of them with the route
del command. Some of the documentation indicates that I should switch to
the gated daemon and stop the routed daemon. This leads me to the following
questions:

   Is gated more manageable and reliable than routed (if in fact they
   accomplish the same task)?
   Do I have to recompile the kernel to make the switch? If not, does
   someone have documentation on the switch?
   What is the URL for the latest versions of both routed and gated?
   Is there documentation beyond the NET-3 HOWTO that I should look at?

TIA
John Wunderlich
