I'm entertaining the idea of a low cost ethernet router, and I'm thinking
of linux as the way to go. I don't want to start a debate about router
technologies, as in cisco vs. linux, but I do want to know what multi-port
ethernet cards there are available for linux. I do remember reading about
4 port 10bt cards (which would be perfect for my task). Also, how many of
these suckers could you put in a box, say, 300mhz box, or maybe less.
Right now I'm thinking of a 100bt card for bringing ethernet into the box,
and then 2 4port 10bt cards in each box, giving 8ports per box. If anyone
has success or horror stories, I would definatly be interested.
