Netscape has supported it since v1.1, MSIE since 2.0 and lynx has
supported it for quite some time too; they all send the HTTP Host:
header.

All our user homepages are reachable as http://USER.www.cistron.nl/
using this name-based virtual hosting and we never had one complaint
