you seem to be confused about the role of these two files in the name
server. Which one is read depends on which version of named you are
running; if you are running a 4.x version, you must use /etc/named.boot
with all of the relevant entries; if you are running 8.x, you must use
a /etc/named.conf-formatted file.
By the way, what relevance does this have to linux-gcc? (removed from
the cc list)
