Do the counters turn over?

Hello,

I have noticed that after writing 2^31 bytes to a TCP stream, the
application is given an error and can no longer write to the socket.  Are
there known problems with counters cycling?

I am seeing this in 2.2, 2.1, and 2.0 kernels.
