SIOCADDRT Invalid argument

Hi
I installed on HP Server 2 ethernet card one "eepro100" and one "tulip".

I try to make a subnetwork how is described in Mini-HOWTO-Subnetworking
but
at boot I received a message SIOCADDRT Invalid argument when kerneld
load
module eepro100.o and tulip.o
Where is the problem ??
