+ I can't mail to my local users on my recently installed RedHat 5.2.
+ 'mail root' is OK, but 'mail AK' says that user AK is unknown.
+ Any ideas please ?

Does the user have an entry in /etc/passwd? If not, that is the answer to
your problem.
