Hi!
I have a small ethernet at home with one machine connected to
the net via PPP. Seperately the ethernet and the PPP link both
work fine, but as soon as the PPP link comes up, it no longer
is able to resolve names on the local net. The hosts file contains
localhost and the names of the local machines. My host.conf file
reads:
order hosts,bind
multi on
As I understand it, the system should source the hosts file before
querying the nameserver, but it doesn't appear to. I am running
kernel 2.1.126 with glibc-2.0.99 and the latest net-tools. Any
suggestions? Btw, I don't know if this is in any way related,
but IP masquerade works fine. Only the gateway machine behaves
strangely.
