Dear ALL,

I've posted a couple of mails the last few months concerning my
network problem. Despite the great help from you all, I could not get
the problem fixed. The problem was that I could not connect a linux
box to another and vise versa. I also wasn't able no connect from
within windows 95 to the second linux box.

This weekend (just before giving up hope!) I removed linux from the
second computer, and installed windows 95 on it (harddisc to small for
both). As it turns out, I can connect to linux on the first computer
without any problem (telnet, ftp, X-window, you name it). I think
this sheds a hole new light on my problem!!!!.

Situation now:

A windows/windows connection: no problem!
A windows (2nd PC)/Linux connection: no problem!

A linux/linux conection: problem!
A windows/Linux (2nd PC) connection: problem!

I think linux has a (hardware) problem with the second PC. This PC is
an IBM 486DX2-50 with 16 MB ram.

What do you think?

Thank you for reading this message (and for your answer),
