Multiple NICs

I have 2 nics, a 3C509B and kingston KNE2000. I have recompiled tke
RH5.2 kernel for NE2000 support but the kernel is not recognising the
ne2000  card at boot-up. I have it included in the lilo.conf file.
 Where else can I look to try and have this card recognised for my linux
box to start functioning as a router?
