Hi, I have a machine running RH 5.2 that was fine untill I stuck it back in the DMZ. The following is fine: 1. ifconfig gives me both lo and eth0 correctly configured 2. Route gives me three routes: 127.0.0.1; regular DMZ and lastly default gw netmask is 255.255.255.224 gw is x.x.x.225 ipnumber for this machine is x.x.x.230 I can ping up to the default gw from this machine, including all the cards on the gw, but if I ping the gw itself, I get duplicate packets. The gw responds correctly on a ping x.x.x.225 and suddenly the 127.0.0.1 also responds. Even if I take the machine off the network, x.x.x.225 still responds! If I ifconfig lo down; ifconfig lo up, then the problem seems to be solved. Also, I can ftp to the machine, but the port command fails and I cannot ls, get or anything else. This machine is a production machine and I will treasure any usefull help from a bof out there.
