any ideas?
Can you snoop the net to see if the Solaris host (or the Linux host on
the other side) is ignoring ICMP redirects or something like this?
If something obvious like this is not seen, what would be really
useful would be to get packet dumps from both ends during one round of
the weird ping timing sequence.
