Hi, I'm using iwspy to monitor the quality of the link. SIOCSIWSPY needs ethernet addresses. If there isn't arp cache entry for the ip address then it doesn't work. Now, my question is how to get the arp entry into the cache for a specific ip address? I don't want to send any unnecessary packets (icmp echo etc.). Is there a way to send arp queries from a user space daemon and get the result in kernels arp cache? Some sort of interface into the kernel?
