You need to do 'magic' with your BIOS then (most recent, eg. my Asus, will
allow you to boot on *any* IDE drive, CD-ROM, SCSI or LS120 say). The
problem for the dumb OS (if you got a more complex config) should then be
solved with the LILO trick below.
-OR-, if you got a dumb BIOS (can only boot on first disk), you can:
- install lilo on the MBR of the first disk. Does not matter where
linux (the whole system, or parts of it) is installed.
- create a minimal partition on the first disk, where you will
just have lilo. Don't forget to mark it as active (bootable).
Trickier, but safer if the other OSes do dumb things with the MBR.
Need to re-partition though.
