For those that have an immediate need, a driver for the Adaptec "Starfire"
chip is now available.

    ftp://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/linux/drivers/test/starfire.c

The Starfire is an Adaptec-designed chip used on the latest 1, 2 and 4-port
Ethernet Adaptec 64 bit "server" NICs e.g. the AN6922A.

This driver is unrelated to the Tulip driver which still supports many of
the older Adaptec boards.

This is an early release of the driver, somewhere between alpha and beta
test, intended for those with a pressing need or the ability to contribute
to further development. I believe it to be reliable enough for most use (I
ran Monday's version flat-out for 48 hours) but it's not intended for full
distribution.

Hopefully this will prompt Adaptec to release their driver for inclusion
into the kernel.
