We are looking at an application that would need to transfer files over
a relatively slow link (ppp dialup) from one lan segment to another.
These files need to go to multiple machines. Is there a way to do a
multicast FTP sort of deal to accomplish this? We were originally going
to send the file to one machine and then transfer it to the others that
need it but for non technical reasons this cannot be done.
I see that lucent has a product called e-cast in beta but it is only for
solaris and win95. I was sort of hoping there was an open source
solution out there.
