hi there.

i'm a newbie admin, trying to figure some things out...and would appreciate
help.
i have a linux box (2.0.36) with a small network on one side (1.0.8.0 on
eth0)
and a larger one (1.0.0.0 on eth1) on the other. the linux box has an
ethernet
connection to the internet (eth2), and so does the larger network. people
from 1.0.8.0 need to be able to access 1.0.0.0 and, through it, the
internet (NOT through my linux box).
basically the linux box acts mainly as a router and (very basic) firewall,
and the 1.0.8.0 addresses come from a portmaster that provides dial-in
access to the employees of the company that uses 1.0.0.0.
i cant simply grant 1.0.8.0 access to all destinations, because then when
they go trying to reach anything but 1.0.0.0 (their nameserver, for
example) they would wind up going through my linux machine's internet
connection, not the company's. this is undesirable for many reasons.

i figure there must be some way to do this, as surely ISPs dont have a
separate machine for every client that needs dial-up access to their own
network???

please help, i've looked everywhere.
