Hello all:
In my first attempt ever at rebuilding the kernel [2.0.35 Red Hat 5.1 - I
know I need to get the latest (c: ] I got an error. I went through the
MAKE CONFIG okay and the MAKE DEP and MAKE CLEAN worked error free.
Imediately, when I run the MAKE BOOT command I get the following error:
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-2.0.35/include/ -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes
-O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strength-reduce -pipe -m486 -malign-loops=2 -m
align-jumps=2 -malign-functions=2 -DCPU=586 -c -o init/main.o init/main.c
make: gcc: Command not found
Make: *** [init/main.o] Error 127
I have a couple of books that describe this process, but they don't give any
pointers on what to do if it doesnt work. Im not sure what an Error 127 is?
Any help appreciated!
