hello everyone,
i am trying to establish communication between two
ethernet cards without the use of tcp/ip. both the boxes have red hat 6 with
kenel 2.2.5-15. i feel ethertap is a possible solution. i have recompiled the
kernel for ethertap support. tap0 on both machines are up and running. i can
ping to both. but when i try to write to it, it doesn't seem to get written to
the wire. the read program reads something but not what i have written using
the write program. it can read the ping messages.
can someone give me more details about ethertap and
where can i find more information on it.
