Why not look at the Linux Router Project? They cooked up a stripped-down
version of Linux with all the bits you need to build a router, and it boots
from a diskette and runs in a RAM disk. No hard disk needed. Very secure,
easy to maintain. And free. See http://www.linuxrouter.org
