both are ethernet

they are about 1 foot apart I guess

all the machines are in the same cabinet.
right now I have 9 machines on the networks but I will be adding more.

basically i have done much trial and error and have finally gotten some
success. i set up 1 machine as a gateway, with 2 nic cards, one
connecting to one network and the other connecting to the other network.

some of the machines are working properly now but one machine is giving
me a weird problem and all the machines on the second network are
unreliable.

the machine giving me problems has an entry in it that should not be there

also my unreliable network has a network address ending in .16, not .0, but
routed expects it to be .0, which is why i think it is not working
