Hi again I have installed a redhat 6.0 but it does not accept telnet and finger connections ( I connect using IP number not name ).I have tested ethernet card and linux tells it's ok ( when mounting devices and unmounting at shutdown ) . Before this it accepted telnet but it took 3 minutes to connect from our internal network. But after I reinstalled linux it did not accepted any . Now what's this ? I can not understand. I think it may need some routing command. Is it ??. We have a complete class C network without any subnetworking. Have anyone seen such a thing . I started netscape and it tells I have TCP/IP error : No route to host . Also I disconnected ethernet cable from a linux machine that runs redhat 5.1 but it tried to connect to other host for a long time but this redhat 6.0 do not try and returns this error at onece .
