Denis,
create mode in smb.conf means the mode that will be used to create new
files. Also, samba can only grant access rights it "inherited" from the
underlying OS; that is to say, the file owner, group and permissions
take precedence. If you don't specify a "force user" for the share
you're exporting, samba will use what it gets from the windows clients.
If the user reported by windows exists on the unix box then it'll use
that, else it will use the user "nobody" (I think). In any event if the
user reported by windows doesn't have access rights to that tree or the
files in it, you'll get "access denied".
