To anyone,
I am a relative newbie to the world of linux, and networking in general
and am trying to setup a network in my home between my two PC's with
linux. However I seem to be having some trouble configuring the
interfaces for my NIC's and would 'GREATLY APPRECIATE' any help that
anyone could offer. In my computers I have:
PC-1) A "Boomerang" 3com 3c900-combo EtherLink PCI
PC-2) A Linksys NE2000 Compliant ISA NIC
OS) Linux Redhat 5.2
HUB) Linksys 10/100 Mbps 5 port hub
I think trouble is somehow associated with my
software configuration because I was able to get the two computers read
the cards correctly and I even managed to get them to make a connection
(ONCE) by using ping. But for some reason I can't seem to get them to
connect anymore and furthermore, I can't remember what the original
configuration was
that actually connected. If someone is familiar
enough with this specific version of linux to know what the problem is
or if someone could be kind enough to tell me what the basic network
tools that I will need to get my network back up than I would be
'GREATLY' in your debt. Thanks in advance.
