HELP with Vi!!

Hi all:
    I'm trying to execute the vi editor and it says:
                 Can't load library 'libSM.so.6'
    and it doesnt't work.
    May be it's a fool question, but I'm begining with this world. How
can I resolv this problem ?, thanks
