Hi,

I'm trying to install a DOS software on a Linux Server running samba,so it
can be acessible via smb to the clients.
I've installed the software on the shared directory on samba, and executed it.
At some point running the software, i got an error message, type 55, that
means some errors with network devices...

I've tried to change all the permissions on the samba server config file,
to make it give me the maximum permissions to the shared dirs.

The software i'm trying to run has a DBF subfolder, and the error occurs
when i try to open these dbf files.

When i set the DBF dir to a MS-RAMDrive,and copied all my dbfs to the
ramdrive, the software run ok.But when the dbf files are on the shared dir
on linux, the software gives me this error...

Is there any way to make samba give full rights to the shared dir so i
won't get read / write errors?

Note : if i chmod -R 777 the shared dir, all of the files disappear on the
client...if i set them back to 744, they re-appear

Please, help me ASAP

Cheerz
