RH 6.0
kernel 2.2.11
on intel 686
kde 1.2

I am connected to the internet with full time cable.

I've written with my problem to linux-newbie and kde-user. and read the
sendmail newsgroup. received either no response or no applicable response.

here is my problem: the mailer that comes with kde, kmail, has two choices for
network settings -- smtp OR sendmail.

when I set it to smtp it works fine. when I set it to sendmail, mail to aol
addresses do not arrive at their recipients. I receive no error messages, no
mailer-daemon responses.

now, I need to use the sendmail setting cause I maintain a small (600 person)
mailing list and suppress recipient through /etc/aliases.

My guess is the aol servers have some kind of anti-spam mechanism which is
accepting my mail but not passing it to the recipients.

following is from my sendmail.cf file:

+++
# Alias for this host
Cw localhost cs872746-A
Cw [EMAIL PROTECTED]
# Virtual email domain
# who I masquerade as (null for no masquerading)
DMcs872746-A
# Smart host
DSmail.cgmo1.ab.wave.home.com
# Use this mailer to reach the Smart host
DNsmtp
# Central host for local mail
DHmail.cgmo1.ab.wave.home.com
# class L: names that should be delivered locally, even if we have a relay
CLroot
# class E: names that should be exposed as from this host, even if we masquerade
CEroot
+++

any help deeply appreciated
