I will be getting ADSL soon. I want to put two network cards in my Linux server and have it as a firewall. I will have two dynamic IP addresses available to use. Is there anyway that I can do this using dynamic IP addresses and without something being configured on the ISPs end? I have one Tower for primary us, one tower that is the Linux Server with the two NICs, and a laptop that will have an IP address of 192.168.0.x I need to know how to get my one NIC that will be connected to the ADSL modem to get it's IP address automatically without dhcpd client! I also would like my primary Tower to be able to get one of the IP addresses through the Linux server! I was thinking that maybe the Linux server could get two IP addresses, and release one to the primary Tower? I also want to know how this will affect my local network access! ie, can I do routing from my primary tower which will have one internet IP address to my 192.168.0.x network without using IPMasquerading? If not, maybe two way IP masquerading would work? If I do do two way IP masquerading, how would I prevent outsiders from accessing my internal network? whew that was a long one. So, anyone have any ideas on any of these questions? - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-net" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
