When you say you `installed' you mean you compiled?  Because after
compilation, bind needs a configuration file in /etc/named.conf and some
`zone files' to be created and/or copied from other name servers.

By the way, what is `212,108' ?
Are you sure that this is actually with a *comma* instead of dots?

If it's using a comma, then your /etc/resolv.conf probably contains a
mistake -- a `nameserver' line that is malformed.
