I posted the following on the netatalk mailing-list without success:

Just installed Netatalk 1.4b2+asun2.1.3 on RedHat 6.1. After a normal
boot (in which atalk.init is called properly) Mac can talk to Linux
via HTTP and PING, but the Linux box remains invisible to the Mac
Chooser. Just sending a new START message to atalk.init returns the
message:

atalkd is already running (... etc)
        atalkdbind: Cannot assign requested address
        bind: Cannot assign requested address

The only way to make the Linux box visible to the Chooser is to send
STOP, then START to atalk.init (which kicks in after about 60 seconds
of churning).

What am I missing?
