Hi,
First of all thank you for showing interest in my problem.

Here is the output of /sbin/route -n
$ /sbin/route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use
Iface
10.1.19.2 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 eth1
10.1.19.1 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 eth0

and output of "ip route" is as follows
$ip route
10.1.19.2 dev eth1 scope link
10.1.19.1 dev eth0 scope link
10.1.16.0/20 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.19.1
10.1.16.0/20 dev eth1 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.19.2
127.0.0.0/8 dev lo scope link
default via 10.1.16.2 dev eth1
default via 10.1.16.2 dev eth0

I am using the two different ethernet cards 3com's and Dec 21140.
Both are connected to Cisco's hub. The only thing i have not
configured in the system is the "Default device".
BTW, do you know any site where i can find some info about the
expected behavior or how does routing works between the two
interfaces.

Regards
Dhiren
