To,
   Mr.Alan

I had faced same problem, In my proxy server (intel motherboard and
4.3 GB harddisk ) RH5.2(2.0.36) was working fine, i want to use bandwith
control( QOS )so i go for RH6.0(with reconfigured 2.2.10),
but this time with 8.4Gb seagate drive everything fine except it
flashing following error:

hda: Status timeout: status=0xd0{Busy)
hda: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
ide0: reset : SUCCESS
(frequently)

so,i test with our own motherboard(v7) its working fine . Finally
reconfigured kernel with CONFIG_IDEDMA_AUTO =Y ,it working fine.
(this reffered in some doc it says that prior to 2.1.x by default this
is option is active but 2.1.x onwards this u have activate if u want)
so i asked same question in the same site no body replied me , so this time?

Note: our own v7 motherboard its working fine.

problem is why its giving above error in intel motherboard and why its not
giving in v7 motherboard.

bye
ome
