I prefer to use Cistron radiusd. It's almost the same with Livingston's one but
offer a few more useful features like:
Can limit max. number of simultaneous logins on a per-user basis!
Can execute an external program when user has authenticated (for example to run
a sendmail queue).
Can act as a proxy server, relaying requests to a remote server.
etc.
