This is probably not a simple question. I am having difficulty finding
good/easy documentation on this. iproute2 and Zebra come up and I would
dig into one of these if someone would point the way to go.
I have Redhat 6.0 using ipchains as a firewall/NAT.
A network card for each cable modem (using DHCP).
Simple.
I have two default routes. If the first cable modem (ISP) stops working for
what ever reason the second default route does not take over as the default
gateway.
What is the simplest way of getting multiple default routes to dynamically
manage themselves? Scripts have been suggested to ping and change the
routing as needed,
but I don't think I would like to try to get that working, maybe I don't
have
the experience needed, the experience I do have tells me not to go down that
path.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Brent Welke
