Mobile IP uses proxy arp so that the home agent can continue to reply to
arp requests for the mobile host when the mobile host is away from the
home network. I am having trouble getting this to work under linux
(2.2.14). I've tried commands like:
arp -i eth0 -Ds 145.1.193.46 eth0 pub
After this /proc/net/arp has the following entry:
145.1.193.46 0x1 0xc 00:00:00:00:00:00
* eth0
and arp gives:
145.1.193.46 * *
MP eth0
but the machine will not reply to arp requests.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem?
