I saw none of these errors in any of my logs.  Here is my syslog.conf.  I 
think its right, but let me know if i should add anything:
*.=info;*.=notice                               /usr/adm/messages
*.=debug                                        /usr/adm/debug
    mail.err                                    /dev/console
    mail.debug                                  /var/log/maillog
*.warn                                          /usr/adm/syslog
*.err                                           /usr/adm/syslog
