In stead of doing this edit your /etc/hosts file and and put your machine
name in the file plus the coreesponding IP. i.e
machinename.domain.com 192.x.x.x machinename
This will be enoughtto solve your problem. But if you want to use your
name server then you also have to edit /etc/resolv.conf and put the IP of
your name server in that file on the nameserver line. On Wed, 26 Jul
