I may be on a different plain of though but I used to have some mail
bouncing regularly (not all the time though).
Have you 'switched-off' POP3 mail delivery on your Demon Account. This was
the cause of my mail bouncing problems. Most Demon customers don't know this
function exists untill they try to run a mail gateway.
The page to switch off this function can be found at.

Hi all,
My NFS system is unstable. The clients frequently lost connection
from server. The linkage lost last for 1 sec to 2 mins. The unstability
began after my system has been moved to a new building. Plz give me
suggestions on getting rid of the annoying NFS linkage lost.
Thanks in advance.

RH5.2, samba 2.0.3.
I run the RH machine to display the contents of the home directories on a
HPUX machine. The home directories on the HPUX are NFS exported and mounted
on the RH server. On the RH server these mounted directories are accessible
via samba.
The files in the home directories have a 5 digit numeral extentention. In
order to view these files via windows, for each file it must be noted that
notepad is the program to open these files.
Is it possible to add an extention to the files on the RH server only for
certain extentions that are noted ([0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9])?
the file EAFIL33.12045 must 'virtually' be converted to EAFIL33.12045.txt!
Thanx!
Frits.

I want to conserve bandwidth and only have packets between server and client
when new mail arrives (and at login). So I want the server to "push" the email
notification to the client. I don't think fetchmail will do that unless I'm
missing something.
I also don't want to automatically send the entire email to the client (it
could be spam or a large unimportant attachment not worth using the bandwidth
for)
And, if the mail notification is compatible with any popular Windows email
client, then that'd be great. (Ie. when the server notices one of the email
accounts has new mail (by using fetchmail), then it tells the client (using
some protocol which I hope is a standard), and the client then uses standard
techniques (POP3) to check and download the mail.

Kommt was anderes

Ausprgungen, sparen.
heterogenen Netzwerkumgebung leben mssen. Und solange wir Ethernet,
TR, FDDI, IPv4, IPV6, SPX, SNA etc. miteinander verbinden mssen,
werden wir um einen Layer 3 nicht herumkommen.
>
> Wir brauchen _eine_ Stationszuordnung, die funktioniert. Alles

Fein! Dann designen wir halt eine. Fragt sich nur, ob alle anderen
dann nur mehr diese eine verwenden wollen. Wenn nicht, dann gibt's
halt wieder eine mehr ;-)

the 509B is one of the few cards that works _perfectly_ in linux. After you
disabled the PnP on the card, what resources did you assign to it, and most
importantly: Did you remember to tell your BIOS that that IRQ was now in use
