This may seem as a simple question for some but...
When using the Internet namespace, is it neccessary with an internet
connection. Or is it just neccesary to have the correct headerfiles and
so on.
What is a namespace anyway. Is it just one way of saying the adress is
like this and the protocol is this a.s.o.

Sorry, I'm not sure what the problem is. The only thing I can think
of right off the bat is that somehow you are pinging to non-existent
IP addresses. But I'm no pro at this.

Guess I could disable the ethernet in that profile, but how does NT do it.
At work one cannot get internet access without loggin on to the domain.

though i'm not sure it supports closures the way i would like g++ to
do... anyway, Dylan looks like a very potent language. however, until
a safe compiler base is available (which means gcc basically), i am
unlikely to switch. and C++ seems to be there to stay (as unfortunate

I tried that a while ago ( the symlinking) and in the first place it worked,
but you can't add any new bookmarks under LinuX even if the mount options
for the Windoze partition are set to writable. Another problem was that
after adding some new bookmarks under Windoze they didn't show up in the
symlinked LinuX bookmarks.
So I turned back again to copying the bookmarks from one partition (system)
to the other.

Hi all,
I have 3 RedHat machines, where 1 of them act as the NFS server.
The NFS server serves user directories /home/users/XX to the machines,
where XX is username of an user. If I login as one of the user into nfs
client machine or access the user directory (like ls) in nfs client
machine, I get NFS server not responding error. For user directories,
they work fine. I also export other filesystems from the nfs server to
client machines and these filesystems also work fine. Any idea to solve
the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Date: Fri, 25 Jun 1999 10:14:15 +0200
Hi.
I am not sure wether this is the correct place to post my questions, but i
try anyways hoping to get som seriously needed help.
I am using my linux box to connect to my ISP, i have a static IP address and
my linux is used as a masq. gateway to my other 20 clients. Everything works
just fine except one thing.
The linux box is also used as our mailserver, we recieve mail correctly from
our ISP and are able to send mail to the Internet ( sendmail ).
However when we send mail to our own domain, sendmail treats it as local
mail and deliver at once, this is OK we dont dial our ISP when sending local
mail. But every 15min app. the local POP request from the clients trigger
the linuxbox to dial our ISP, this is a big problem.
The dial occours even when only one client is connected and the mail client
program ( outlook express ) is set to check for new mail every 5 minutes.
I hope someone can help me with this big problem.

Depends on the model of hub. The NetGear DS104 hub ( and the equivalent
6-, 8- and 16-port models ) is a 10/100 per-port hub that allows
mixing of 10-megabit and 100-megabit NICs on the hub without any
problems.

Hello Martin.
Are the files for this user private? If not, did you install anonymous
FTP during the installation of Linux? If it's not private then the
user can use anonymous FTP and you can place the files in the pub
directory.
