  Hello !

  When you install lilo in the Master Boot Record, if you install (or reinstall) 
Windows in your PC, it erase your "old" Master Boot Record. So, if you think use 
Windows is better than you install lilo in the first sector of boot partition, and for 
this you must mark the partition like "active".
  But if you only use Linux, i think you must install lilo in the Master Boot Record.
