Hi Rick,
Don't know if you got any replies, and I just chanced upon this..
This is my config... login.config... which works well enough.
/AutoPPP/ - - /usr/sbin/pppd file /etc/ppp/options.server
* - - /bin/login @
Options.server
-detach
asyncmap 0
proxyarp
lock
crtscts
modem
login
ms-dns 203.36.180.2
ms-dns 203.36.180.3
require-pap
refuse-chap
inittab...
s1:12345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty ttyS0 -D /dev/ttyS0
s2:12345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty ttyS1 -D /dev/ttyS1
If you use ms-dns amke sure pppd is compiled to support it.
